REVIEW SCORE

Obtained from an old Tuscan farmhouse of rural origin, located in a wonderful setting in the heart of the Casentino, Villa La Cornice looks like an elegant outpost with a view of the world. On the outside, some details enrich a whole made up of harmonious geometries that blend well with the surrounding landscape. Inside the house, however, has large living spaces furnished with antique Tuscan art furniture and embellished with exposed brick, terracotta floors, ceilings with beams and bricks.

Able to accommodate up to 13 + 2 people, it has 3 double bedrooms with en-suite bathroom, 1 double bedroom with private bathroom, 1 twin bedroom with 2 single beds with private bathroom, 1 triple bedroom with private bathroom, 2 additional bathrooms, 2 large living rooms with fireplace and kitchen which lead directly into the garden. Arranged on two floors, the Villa consists of two residential units. To the Villa is added the dependence which is located in front of the swimming pool, where you will find a large dining room with a fully equipped kitchen with a wood oven for pizza and a covered terrace with barbecue, ideal place to prepare meals and eat all together outdoors. Also part of the property is a tennis court and an organic garden maintained according to the ancient farming traditions of our area.

The outdoor spaces are all to be enjoyed with the large outdoor swimming pool of 12 meters long and 6 meters wide with stepped entry into the water. By the pool deck, chairs and sun loungers with umbrellas will allow you to spend long days in absolute relaxation. The green garden is very enjoyable for practicing outdoor sports and for having fun even with the little ones. Inside the property, there is also a large pond that will make your walks in direct contact with nature unique through easily identifiable paths suitable for everyone.

A large covered structure, but open on three sides, equipped with tables, chairs, and a corner with sofa and armchairs, will give you shelter during the hottest hours of the day, during breaks for lunch and dinner, or at other times to share as a family or group. The kitchen is very large, which also serves as a dining room, complete with stove, fireplace, and oven.

There is also a wellness center with a heated indoor pool, sauna, and whirlpool (extra service for a fee). In the sleeping area, the watchword is the hospitality that will blend well with the wide spaces available to you. Villa La Cornice is the ideal place for excursions to the Casentinesi Forests National Park but also for visits to the small villages of Bibbiena, Camaldoli, and La Verna, the latter two important spiritual places. Arezzo is half an hour away by car, while Florence and Siena can be reached in just over an hour by car.

About the Location

Italy, Tuscany, Arezzo Area

Arezzo is located in southeastern Tuscany at the crossroads of four valleys: the Val Tiberina, Casentino, Valdarno, and Valdichiana. This place played an important role in the history of Tuscany and has many artifacts to display. The ancient origins of the city are verified by the stone tools and the so-called Man of the Elm who was discovered here, dating back to the Paleolithic era. The original foundation of the city was Etruscan dating back to the 9th century B.C.

Today Arezzo boasts a wide range of sites to see including fortresses, monuments, churches, and museums that will take its visitors back in time. The benchmark of the city is the Church of San Francesco with the incredible Early Renaissance fresco by Piero Della Francesca depicting the Legend of the True Cross. Have an espresso at the impressive Piazza Grande, where they also hold a jousting matching twice a year, and don’t miss the Medicean Fortress. Visit the Cathedral dedicated to San Donato, as well as the Church of San Domenico with the wooden Crucifix by Cimabue.

Arezzo may not be in the first line of options while thinking of traveling to Tuscany yet it is a hidden gem that will provide its guests with an authentic view of a typical city of the region which has managed to maintain its traditions, its architecture, and its charm. It is believed that the Ponte in Mona Lisa's painting depicts that of Arezzo. Conveniently located, Arezzo offers opportunities for exploration in nearby cities such as Cortona, Anghiari, and Poppi.

Tuscany is a place like nowhere else in the world; this is the reason why this region is at the tops bucket lists all over the globe. Amazing landscapes, beautiful hilltop towns and the fantastic capital city of Florence charm everyone who decides to visit it. It is a majestic region with almost half of the artistic heritage of Italy and fantastic landscapes. Due to its mild weather, you could visit Tuscany all year round. It’s a region with exceptional art towns and hilltop villages and with a heritage of a glorious past with unspoiled nature, spectacular sea coast, and beautiful islands. Here you will taste some of the best wine varieties and then you can relax to one of its thermal spas.

The birthplace of the Roman Empire and Renaissance, Italy, showcases many of the world’s greatest artworks, architectural buildings and over the top gastronomical proposals. This is the country where the word “style” expresses the whole nation. Italy has more Unesco World Heritage cultural sites than any other country; among them are Botticelli’s Birth of Venus and Primavera, Michelangelo’s David and Sistine Chapel and da Vinci’s The Last Supper.
