REVIEW SCORE

Villa Chiantigiana Tuscany offers beautiful views of the Chianti countryside in a luxurious setting. With nine bedrooms and plenty of outdoor space, the villa is ideal for a family reunion, wedding or simply a relaxing getaway. The villa perfectly restored, is characterized by its thirteenth-century watchtower, which dominates this part of the valley.

Two lateral structures were added to the tower to lodge the guards of the ancient “Castle of Cerreto, the ruins of which are open to visit, not far from the house. Twentyseven (27) hectares estate with olives, vineyards and woods and colours and fragances surround the property Inside, beamed ceilings and brick floors, fireplaces and arches speak to the villa’s history, as do the original antique furnishings, from large wooden cupboards to accents like silver platters.

Modern sofas and armchairs are comfortable spots to curl up in front of the fireplace, and since the dining room is open to the living room, there’s a convivial feel. The spacious kitchen has the same atmospheric brick and beams and is fully equipped. Though the location is quiet and private, it’s a short drive to Siena and Florence and their museums, dining and shopping. From the wide lawn and inground pool to the outdoor cooking and dining areas, the grounds of the villa have panoramic views of the surrounding hills. Guests can take advantage of the rural location and arrange to use the telescope, or ask to see the wine cellar and have a tasting.

About the Location

Italy, Tuscany, Chianti Area

Among the most famous areas of Tuscany is Chianti, which is synonymous with the best quality world-famous wine. Located in an area that encompasses stunning Florence and chivalry Siena, Chianti enjoys a diverse landscape and a wide wine selection. Its scenery with soft rolling hills covered with endless rows of grapes, quaint traditional villages and rich forests along with its picturesque architecture have made this place a muse of inspiration for poets, artists, photographers and travelers through the centuries.

The history of Chianti and its small towns is linked to that of the Etruscans, Romans, and the cities of Siena and Florence who often fought over this area. The Chianti wine area extends further beyond the two cities, all around Florence and even toward Arezzo, Pistoia and Montepulciano.

The area is dotted with many sights, such as the Etruscan tombs in Castellina in Chianti and the numerous fortresses built to protect the boundaries between Florence and Siena. Do not miss out a wine tour, which is a must-do.

The nearest town to Florence is Greve in Chianti, where the main attraction is the elegant piazza Matteotti, surrounded by arcades with small shops selling local products.

Leaving Greve and toward Siena, there is the so-called "Chianti Triangle", comprising the towns of Castellina in Chianti, Radda in Chianti and Gaiole in Chianti.

Castellina and Radda are situated in the hills and they also boast beautiful views, while Gaiole is flat. Near Gaiole, there are two castles of renowned beauty which host two of the most important wineries in the area: Meleto and Brolio.

All in all, Chianti offers a unique landscape, with verdant gentle hills covered with vineyards and olive groves, small stone villages with characteristic parishes and countryside homes made of stone.

Tuscany is a place like nowhere else in the world; this is the reason why this region is at the tops bucket lists all over the globe. Amazing landscapes, beautiful hilltop towns and the fantastic capital city of Florence charm everyone who decides to visit it. It is a majestic region with almost half of the artistic heritage of Italy and fantastic landscapes. Due to its mild weather, you could visit Tuscany all year round. It’s a region with exceptional art towns and hilltop villages and with a heritage of a glorious past with unspoiled nature, spectacular sea coast, and beautiful islands. Here you will taste some of the best wine varieties and then you can relax to one of its thermal spas.

The birthplace of the Roman Empire and Renaissance, Italy, showcases many of the world’s greatest artworks, architectural buildings and over the top gastronomical proposals. This is the country where the word “style” expresses the whole nation. Italy has more Unesco World Heritage cultural sites than any other country; among them are Botticelli’s Birth of Venus and Primavera, Michelangelo’s David and Sistine Chapel and da Vinci’s The Last Supper.
