REVIEW SCORE

Just like a precious gem embedded in stone, this property is one luxurious spot in a tiny village in Sorrento Coast, a true retreat for those who love to be private yet very close to all the landmarks in the most famous Coast in the world. Precious materials, solarium and a Jacuzzi pool on the upper terrace are some of the features of this fantastic property, with prestigious furnishing and a stone throw from the fantastic beaches of Marina del Cantone, and close to Positano and Amalfi.

The most tasteful of furnishings and materials have been chosen and mixed together, the result is a balanced, elegant family property. All ceramics are handmade and custom, while the illumination chosen really makes a difference after the sunset.

The villa is built over three levels: on the ground floor, there is a large hall that opens onto two living rooms and a beautiful dining room, whilst the upper floors contain the bedrooms and panoramic terrace with solarium and whirlpool with infinity edge. The terrace boasts a unique view of the sea, one of the best of the entire coast.

This property is recommended to families and travellers who love the buzz yet want to go back home to a safe and private place in the evening, as well as to all who love great food – the famous Spaghetti alla Nerano, a symphony of zucchini, herbs and grana Padano are the typical dish here. This little bay hosts the Taverna del Capitano, a Michelin starred restaurant. The villa comes with a fantastic boat rentable at extra cost. The boat is 11 metres long and 3.8 metres wide with a sunbathing area of around 16 square metres, has a maximum speed of 33 knots and can take up to 15 people: travelling Sorrento, Capri and Amalfi Coast by boat really makes a difference during the summer, when roads are very crowded and off-the-beaten-path bays are the best place to be during the day.

About the Location

Italy, Campania, Sorrento

Sorrento is a stunning coastal town in southwestern Italy, facing the Bay of Naples on the Sorrentine Peninsula. It is perched on cliffs that separate the town from its marinas, and it offers breathtaking water views. Piazza Tasso is a beautiful square dotted with original cafes where you can enjoy Italian pastries along with an espresso and enjoy a stroll while gazing at the palatial hotels and stunning edifices and shops. Try "gnocchi alla sorrentina" in one of the tasty Campanian restaurants along with a limoncello. The historic center is a labyrinth of narrow alleys with hidden gems to explore.

Sorrento is also known as the town of lemons, though the town’s longstanding popularity stems from its prime location at the western gateway to the famous Amalfi. It’s also on the train line to Pompeii and has regular fast-ferry connections to Naples and Capri.

Sorrento is one of Italy's most famous resort towns, a colorful perched balcony high above the Mediterranean with views that extend from the island of Procida across the Gulf to Naples and Mt. Vesuvius.

Sorrento sits in a sheltered spot on the promontory, protected by the surrounding hills. It has been an important port for centuries. It has also been called "La Gentile" ("the nice one") for its mild climate, classy architecture with elegant streets and gardens, and friendly spirit of the residents and it has a tradition of hospitality that goes back in time.

The name of this jewel town derives from the Latin adaptation of "sirens”. It is said that the sirens lived in the rocks below Sorrento. It was an important resort for the Romans, and traces of their opulent homes and gardens can still be seen, along with the Porta Romana, the ancient gateway to the city.

For an itinerary outline, Corso Italia is lined with cafes, restaurants and shops. Pretty palaces adorn the streets, attesting to the town's prosperity. The Villa Comunale is a civic park and a breath of green, a popular gathering spot for the citizens. In Piazza Vittoria, you will find the remains of the Temple of Venus. The church of San Francesco has a cross-vaulted cloister that hosts concerts and art exhibitions and the masterpiece of the Romanesque Duomo, the city's cathedral, dates back to the 1400s.

All in all, Sorrento may just be the ideal destination: it has two beautiful marinas, a vibrant city center, stunning views, fabulous restaurants and sidewalk cafes. It's also great for exploring the wider region as you can get ferries to Naples, Amalfi, Capri and Ischia, trains to Pompeii and buses to the other towns along the famed Amalfi Coast.

Campania is one of the regions of Southern Italy. Few corners of Europe can match Campania’s cultural heritage since it is home to a stunning selection of architectural sights from ancient Greek times to Christian Cathedrals. This is the area of ancient Pompeii. Campania is full of chariot grooves, frescoes, and heart-stirring sculptures.

The birthplace of the Roman Empire and Renaissance, Italy, showcases many of the world’s greatest artworks, architectural buildings and over the top gastronomical proposals. This is the country where the word “style” expresses the whole nation. Italy has more Unesco World Heritage cultural sites than any other country; among them are Botticelli’s Birth of Venus and Primavera, Michelangelo’s David and Sistine Chapel and da Vinci’s The Last Supper.
