Svoronata is a small village on the southern side of Kefalonia located 9km from Argostoli, the capital of the island. Svoronata is also the closest village to the airport of the island but also close to lovely beaches, including Ai-Helis, Avithos, Ammes, Platis Gialos and Makris Gialos, which display soft sand and crystalline waters. The village is very picturesque with traditional architecture found within a verdant embrace. It offers developed touristic infrastructure, being one of the largest villages in southern Kefalonia within the region of Livatho. Svoronata stood relatively lucky in the earthquake of 1953 and was not completely destroyed as most of the island. Famous were the blacksmiths of the village, making wrought iron gates, namely portonia, which are true masterpieces. An excellent piece of architecture is the church of St. Nicholas, the patron saint of the village and the seamen.
Kefalonia is the largest island of the Ionian group, located between Lefkada and Zante. Due to the size of the island Kefalonia never gets too crowded or too noisy, not even in high season and this makes it ideal for family holidays. Famous for the exotic aquamarine color beaches, including Myrtos, Antisamos, Lourdas and Skala, the island has gained popularity as the filming scenery of the Hollywood movie Captain Corelli's Mandolin.
The Ionian Islands are located on the western side of Greece and are historically and culturally strongly connected to Italy with many evident elements of this. The architecture of the capital towns, including Corfu Town, Zakynthos Town and Argostoli, resembles a lot to the Venetian style as these islands were occupied by the Venetians in the medieval times. Another striking characteristic of Ionian Greece is the lush green nature and the aquamarine beaches with white soft sand. Corfu, Zakynthos, Kefalonia and Lefkada are the most popular holiday islands. The Ionian islands also embrace an amazing music and dance tradition.
Being among the top 20 tourist destinations worldwide, Greece is synonymous with 3 things: history and ancient civilization, amazing landscapes and top touristic destinations. Greece is so wealthy in culture and beauty that it never seems to be completely explored. Holidays in Greece is the ultimate experience all year round. It offers a great pallet of experiences; the warm sun, the crystal clear beaches, the dramatic nature, the rich culture and the renowned hospitality along with the unique culinary experience of the Mediterranean diet.

Just leaving after a fortnight. The villa surpassed our expectation to the degree that we would not hesitate to rebook for another fortnight.
Lovely secluded location with excellent parking for the hire car (which I'd say you'll need).
Easy drives to all main towns but nicely tucked away.
The villas were maintained to a high standard and cleaned every day.
Highly recommended if you're looking for a peaceful getaway.
The villa was ideal for a quiet, secluded break. The pool was lovely and very well maintained on a daily basis and the villa itself very clean. Whilst slightly off the beaten track, it was close enough to mini-markets, good restaurants and a few bars. You can easily get the bus into Argostoli car and the beach is a short walk away if you want to. Overall, ideal for what we wanted.
We visited one of these villas at the end of August. Very easy to get to from the airport and straight forward if you hire a car, we didn't but wish we had. It takes about 5 mins or so in a cab.
The villa is lovely, lots of space outside and an added bonus of having your own pool. My children spent many hours in the pool!
Inside the villa is nice, it has air conditioning which was definitely required, it would ideally suit a family of 4 rather than 5. The villa was cleaned daily by Athena and she was a lovely lady even taking some of our own washing to do!
The aeroplanes coming in to land were quite frequent some days but did not cause us any bother. If anything they were quite interesting to watch.
Mini markets- you have one at the end of the villa road on the corner, as someone else has mentioned this shop is quite expensive. Another mini- market which is little bit further away about 10 min walk has more of a selection and is a better price, to get to this one follow the villa road out back on to the main road, turn left and stay on this road, the shop is on your right not far passed Crazy George's Bar.
We used the bus to get to Lassi beach and to go to Argostili. You can catch the bus at the end of the villa road. I took a photo of the timetable so I had it on me to refer to.
We preferred Lassi Beach to Ai Helis and Ammes (closest beaches) because the water seemed a lot calmer, my children also enjoyed looking for the fish in the water.
The highlight has got to be seeing the turtles in Argostili and watching baby turtles at Avithos Beach.
Overall the Villa is in a good location to explore Kefalonia.
The only negative point I do have is the noise daily from a very barky dog, this I know is out of the control of the villa owners but it was quite a nuisance at times.
Our villa was perfect, couldn't fault it in any way. The beaches locally are stunning and there is everything you need within easy reach. It's a peaceful and relaxing location, and a perfect base to explore the rest of the island. The closeness to the airport makes it so easy for transfers to and from, but there is no real disruption from incoming and outgoing flights, just occasional, brief and faint engine noise.
The villa itself was immaculate - we loved it. Everyone was so friendly, warm and helpful and the pool, garden and inside were cleaned daily with minimal intrusion.
We loved the island and the villa and will definitely be returning for another relaxing and chilled out break.
Four villas set in quiet location. Access is up a track which can be a little bumpy but was ok in our hire car. The villa we had was on the end which ment the pool was around the corner making it a little more private. Entering the villa it's an open plan setup with a well equipped kitchen which has a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, oven and toaster. A washing machine would have been more useful than the dishwasher, but this didn't spoil our stay. Also on the on this floor and up a step was the main bedroom with bathroom. Downstairs is the second bedroom. This has two single beds which can setup to suit. It also has its own bathroom. All areas have air conditioning which was included and was very useful during our stay in August. Outside there is a patio with table and chairs. The pool was excellent and there are four sun beds and a sofa to sit out on. House keeping visited most days and the grounds and plants were maintained everyday during our stay. We found a car useful but there is a shop and restaurants all in within 5-10mins walk. The beach is about 15mins walk which has beds and parsols you can hire for 7 Euro and a beach bar. It's was a really relaxing and enjoyable stay and will look at visiting again
Lovely villa, great pool, large garden. Plenty of seating areas in sun and shade. Well equipped, Downstairs room accessed by wooden stairs, recommend you don't go down with wet feet as no handrail, husband slipped and got a lovely bruise. All in all a great restful holiday, we would not hesitate to book again.
