Gouvia is built on the site of an ancient Venetian harbor and today it accommodates the largest marina of Corfu Island. Gouvia is very active during the summer period when tourists arrive with their yachts from every part of the world. The surrounding beaches are not particularly good due to the close proximity to the marina. Gouvia village boasts great touristic infrastructure and includes a wide range of activities and amenities such as tasteful taverns, cafes, bars and nightclubs.
