Villa Domenicale Corfu is on the borders of an old Venetian village which is 17 km from Corfu town and its airport. By just standing at the veranda you can spot the beautiful landscape and the sea which is only 1.5 km away. Villa Domenicale is in the northeast of Corfu, which happens to be the most beautiful part of the whole island. Alongside the coast, you can find breathtaking beaches which offer you great nightlife and boat rental. The positioning of the villa is ideal not only because of the beach nearby but also because it is located between town and countryside which enables great sightseeing.

About the Location

Greece, Corfu

Agios Markos is a beautiful traditional Greek village, situated 18km from Corfu town right above the stunning beach of Ipsos. Agios Markos is a protected location by the Ministry of Culture due to its rich heritage and unique Venetian architecture. It is surrounded by low hills and woodland and it offers wonderful views of Ipsos turquoise waters and beyond that to Corfu town. Time seems to have stopped in this quaint little village giving out a sense of serenity to its visitors. Worth visiting are the two impressive churches of Agios Merkourious and of Christ Pantokrator.

The island of Corfu is one of the Ionian group islands. To the locals, Corfu is known under the name Kerkyra. It is a place with a long history and rich tradition. Its polymorphism is due to the many conquerors that arrived on the island through the centuries, including British and Italians, who left an evident mark on the local culture and architecture. Some parallel Corfu to Venice and Florence.

The Ionian Islands are located on the western side of Greece and are historically and culturally strongly connected to Italy with many evident elements of this. The architecture of the capital towns, including Corfu Town, Zakynthos Town and Argostoli, resembles a lot to the Venetian style as these islands were occupied by the Venetians in the medieval times. Another striking characteristic of Ionian Greece is the lush green nature and the aquamarine beaches with white soft sand. Corfu, Zakynthos, Kefalonia and Lefkada are the most popular holiday islands. The Ionian islands also embrace an amazing music and dance tradition.

Being among the top 20 tourist destinations worldwide, Greece is synonymous with 3 things: history and ancient civilization, amazing landscapes and top touristic destinations. Greece is so wealthy in culture and beauty that it never seems to be completely explored. Holidays in Greece is the ultimate experience all year round. It offers a great pallet of experiences; the warm sun, the crystal clear beaches, the dramatic nature, the rich culture and the renowned hospitality along with the unique culinary experience of the Mediterranean diet.

Charming, comfortable Villa, very well located to explore all of Corfu

Villa Domenicale is a charming property full of history but with contemporary mod-cons. The lay-out is user friendly with kitchen and dining area upstairs, and bedrooms/bathrooms downstairs. There is a very historical ambience to the library. The pool and patio area offer privacy and exceptional views. The location of the Villa above Ipsos Bay was very quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed the very short stroll (50 metres) along to Panorama Bar in the evening for sun-downers. As we were travelling around the island daily the central location meant we were well positioned for travel north, south, eat and west.
