Litsarda is a village northeast of Chania, approximately 25km from the city, and belongs to the municipality of Apokoronas. Built at an altitude of 283m it offers splendid views. The traditional houses of Litsarda village, the stone-paved alleys, and its verdant ambiance make it one of the most beautiful villages of the area. Visitors will also see the ruins of the old village that was wholly devastated by the Turks during the invasion. The residents of Litsarda are famed for their hospitality. If you happen to be there during the 14th and 15th of August make sure you join the traditional fair and witness how locals live and celebrate.
