About the Location

France, French Alps, Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise

Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise is a village embraced by the Tarentaise Valley in Savoie in France. Approximately 4 km above the village, you will find the ski resort of Sainte-Foy, a small resort with four chairlifts and 15 slopes. Sainte-Foy has gained fame predominantly for its off-piste skiing and snowboarding.

Displaying a traditional Savoie architectural style, this little village has managed to maintain its charm, featuring buildings constructed of stone and wood. It has remained unspoiled compared to many mountain villages and ski areas in France. The village offers a range of bars and restaurants as well as accommodation which includes hotels and chalets.

People come to Saint-Foy-Tarentaise for its relaxing atmosphere and its less cosmopolitan character which enhances its unique charm. This is a resort unlike the huge ski areas of the wider region. It boasts a very friendly atmosphere where people get to know each other and groups of people unite into one big company.

For the more adventurous, there are plentiful off-piste sections through the trees, but Sainte-Foy is also famous for its pristine off-piste terrain. Make your way to the famous 'Fogliettaz' down the backside of Sainte-Foy.

Sainte Foy-has covers all tastes. The pistes are very quiet and well maintained, which make them ideal for beginners and intermediates. The Grande Soliet blue run located underneath the Marquise chair was recently voted the 5th best run in the world.

Visitors of Saint-Foy-Tarentaise can enjoy stunning vistas down the Tarentaise valley. The best place to enjoy them is on the terrace of the Marquise Restaurant which is among the sunniest spots of this area.

Awe-inspiring mountains, crystal-clear lakes, pristine forests, and rushing waterfalls are the main elements that you will meet at the French Alps!
