Most Phuket visitors tend to gravitate towards the island’s busy beach towns, about 40km to the south of the airport, chock-a-block with ‘you-could-be-anywhere’ hotels and thousands of sunbathers crowded onto the sand. But travelers in the know take a shorter drive north to the untouched sands of Natai Beach, and, if they’re especially savvy, into the elegant realm of Infinity Blue, a haven of peace and contemporary style with its toes in the sand. Infinity Blue’s fresh, bright design sets a calming mood throughout, with crisp grey and white furnishings in soft fabrics and Buddhist-themed décor accents. The villa’s single-storey pavilions and lush palm-lined gardens form a presence of unobtrusive luxury, fronted by a 15-meter swimming pool and the endless blue of sea and sky that give the villa its name.
Villa Infinity Blue Phuket comprises two single-story pavilions set on a rectangular plot that extends between a quiet road and the beach. Entering from the parking area you first arrive at the Garden Pavilion housing two of the villa’s bedrooms; a covered corridor between the bedrooms leads to a tropical walled garden and koi pond. Steps through the garden bring you to the Sea View pavilion, containing two more bedrooms, the kitchen, living and dining areas. At the front of this pavilion is a furnished terrace overlooking the pool and beach.
Infinity Blue’s living area is an inviting place to gather, with floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open to the terrace and pool. This air-conditioned space has a calming ambiance with grey sofas and chairs in soft fabrics arranged to face the large flat-screen TV. Satellite and internet cable service, a DVD player, and Bluetooth speaker make it easy to set the mood with movies or music. The living area can be completely opened up at the front to connect it to the terrace and the cooling sea breezes. Just behind is a dining room with sea views and a table for four. The adjacent kitchen is well equipped with modern appliances and plenty of workspace on the black granite counters.
All four of Infinity Blue’s bedrooms are spacious, bright, and generously furnished. All have ensuite bathrooms with showers and are equipped with TVs, air conditioning, and ceiling fans, as well as sliding glass doors that open to either a sea-view or garden terrace.
No matter where you choose to relax at Infinity Blue, the soothing sounds of the ocean will form your playlist. Stretching between the villa and beach is the 15-metre pool framed by sand-wash decking and with an outdoor shower. At the front of the living pavilion is a fan-cooled covered terrace furnished with a dining table and sofa, the perfect spot for sundowners or a sea-breezy breakfast. A small Eden of a garden with a koi pond surrounded by palms and tropical plants creates a lush courtyard space between the villa’s two pavilions. At the gated entrance is a car park with space for two vehicles.
Natai Beach is a quiet, peaceful beach found in Phang Nga Province, just 6km north of Phuket. It extends to 10km of unspoiled beach. Nature here is protected in order to retain this special feeling of remoteness. Alternatively, Natai Beach is also known as Pilai Beach after the nearby Pilai village. Natai beach is adorned with powdery white soft sand and crystalline waters which has started to approach the spotlight for international celebrities. Natai Beach is not like the rest Thai beaches which offer a plethora of water sports, jet skis, speedboats and accommodate huge luxury hotel units. Instead, it displays a virgin ambiance where you will find only coconut groves and flowery lagoons disturbing the quiet road which runs parallel to most of the beach. Natai Beach is ideal for those who wish to escape the hustle and bustle of the island to a more pristine and not at all cosmopolitan place, a reminiscent of a far lost past before Thailand became one of the top touristic destinations of the globe.
