Malabar’s design reflects its beautiful natural surroundings, by using elements and finishes that blend in, rather than stand out. The use of materials such as stone, wood, polished concrete, sandblasted glass, travertine, and terrazzo, as well as fabrics in neutral shades with splashes of color for accent, means that the view and environment are cleverly highlighted, rather than compromised.
The villa’s layout is designed for easy living and sprawls across several pavilions, which are joined by lawn areas and stone walkways. The spacious villa allows plenty of areas for dining and socializing together, both indoors and outdoors; yet offers ample private areas too. After entering via steps over a pond, you’ll arrive at the main living pavilion, which overlooks the garden and sea. Depending on the weather, this room can be opened up on all sides and is cooled by ceiling fans and the breeze. Just behind the living pavilion, you’ll find the state-of-the-art, fully equipped open plan kitchen with a large central island unit, and a door leading to the chef kitchen, where the chef prepares delicious local delicacies for your enjoyment. A continental breakfast with a twist is included in the rate, and guests can enjoy the flexibility of having their own private chef on hand to prepare fresh, local produce and favorite Thai and international cuisine.
The main building accommodates the master suite, TV room with guest bathroom, an additional bedroom, as well as a study and a fitness room consisting of a treadmill, step machine, and dumbbells. On the upper level is a 5th bedroom, second kid’s bedroom, and a multi-purpose/playroom The spacious master bedroom offers ‘lie-in-bed’ views, as well as a luxurious bathroom, complete with a terrazzo bathtub, twin vanities, and a rain shower. Malabar’s media room is furnished with plenty of comfortable seating for everyone to enjoy a movie together on the large plasma TV with an Apple TV and DVD player. This room also has its’ own en-suite bathroom with a shower. The air-conditioned study makes the ideal place to quietly catch up on emails, or do a little bit of work – if you really must. The fitness room allows you to work off those delicious meals prepared by the chef… although laps in the expansive pool or walks along the beach are also great ways to stay fit while on holiday.
A separate pavilion on the seafront holds an additional two bedrooms, each boasting fantastic views, and each equipped with its own en-suite bathroom, also with terrazzo tubs, his-and-hers vanities, and rain showers. Floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors lead onto the lawn and down to the beach. All five adult bedrooms offer both ceiling fans and air-conditioning, king-size beds with padded headboards and crisp, white linen, as well as bold, feature artwork. The master suite, two bedrooms in the seafront pavilion, and bedroom 5 on the upper level enjoy exceptional ocean views, whilst the fourth bedroom offers partial sea views. With five well-proportioned en-suite bedrooms plus two kid’s bedrooms, Villa Malabar makes an ideal fair-share option for groups of friends or family holidaying together.
At Villa Malabar, the outdoor living spaces are equally as inviting, and a generous rim-flow swimming pool lies on the front lawn leading down to the beach. The pool is ample enough to exercise in, yet offers a shallow section for children to play. A wooden deck with plenty of sun loungers and seating flanks the pool, and a beautiful shady tree on the beach has a swing for little ones to enjoy the view. Tall palm trees and giant boulders form features in the tropical garden, with its lush, green lawns, and frangipani trees with hanging orchids.
Villa Malabar is perfect for infants and children and its facilities include a bouncy castle, paddling pool, inflatables, baby mat, toys including board games and lego, badminton set, croquet set, football goals, beach toys, and UV sun tents.
Taling Ngam, the beach of five isles as it is often referred to, is a district in the south-west of Koh Samui, which displays wild, jungle-like nature and is far less touristic than all the rest of the island. This is why it is considered a rare finding on Koh Samui. Taling Ngam is home to pristine beaches surrounded by wild nature and it boasts stunning views of Anthong Marine National Park, offering a relaxing, lazy holiday. In its northern half, endless coconut palms come down to the seashore where white sand and the azure of the sea aligns with the horizon. The blue shades of archipelago Ang Thong National Marine Park and five neighboring tiny isles: Koh Thalu, Koh Din, Koh Chetta Mun, Koh Mae Koh, and Koh Malaeng Pong intensify the beauty of this view making it something out of this world. Southwards, the coast gets gradually inaccessible, covered with rocks. There are sheer cliffs rising above the water, covered with dense tropical vegetation. Enjoy a slice of paradise on earth!
