First impressions do last. And as you approach the villa you begin to get a feel for the lush greenery, beautiful beaches, and stunning views that have made Koh Samui world-famous. And as you step into the villa and down into the white-walled main living room and dining area the world beyond the ceiling-high patio doors begins to emerge.
It's natural that you will initially head straight towards the patio, the 9 x 4 meter private pool, and the huge expanse of turquoise ocean that spreads endlessly before you. And as you gaze down to the right you see the sandy shoreline of Tong Son Bay. Few locals and even fewer visitors know about this bay and it's right on your doorstep. And to your left, you'll start to take in the several kilometers long Big Buddha beach which stretches along with the village of Bangrak and on to the well-renowned Fisherman's Village and its myriad of restaurants, cafes, bars, market stalls, and shops.
You won't want to look away but just for a moment turn around and take in every aspect of your villa. The large patio area beside the swimming pool is paved with non-slip travertine paving stones. Around the patio, you'll also see a pool bar, a gas BBQ, blue-tooth speakers for the sound system, sun-beds, pool-side furniture, a remote-controlled awning, and an outdoor shower. There are also stairs that lead down to the live-in maid's quarters, a separate kitchen for cooking Thai cuisine, and laundry facilities. Your maid will prepare the daily complimentary continental breakfast, stock up with complimentary chilled water, and ensure that the villa is kept exceptionally clean and tidy during your stay.
Back through the patio sliding doors and into the daytime living area and you'll see a large screen television with hundreds of channels should you wish to take in a movie or catch up with the news and sports. There is a very comfortable sofa and lots of cushioned chairs to relax on and the open-plan living area also has a dining table for eight, a breakfast bar, and a modern fitted kitchen with all the cooking equipment, cutlery, crockery, and utensils you could ever need. And the living area and kitchen are fully air-conditioned and there is also a downstairs toilet and shower room. And throughout the villa, you will find tasteful, elegant, and thoughtful furnishings and fixtures.
Up one flight of stairs and you have three en-suite double bedrooms. All are fully air-conditioned, all have fitted wardrobes and plenty of cupboard space and the Master Bedroom can also boast a Jacuzzi-bathtub. Two of the bedrooms have the same glorious view, from a balcony, as you witnessed on the patio and two of the bedrooms have remote-controlled blinds while the third has floor-to-ceiling heavy curtains and they all block the morning sunshine should you feel like a liein on occasion.
This villa also has a large locking garage that can house a car and several motorbikes and the garage also has a separate entrance to the villa for the live-in maid. There is excellent Wi-Fi throughout the villa and should you wish to entertain, a professional Thai chef can be provided to prepare and serve an incredible array of regional Thai and international cuisines. And the chef can also organise a tailored in-villa cooking class for you should you wish to learn how to cook some of those delicious Thai dishes the Kingdom is famous for.
And that's all a part of being on vacation. But Villa Orchid isn't just your base, it's your home. And after a days adventure or sightseeing trip you'll enjoy nothing more than pouring a chilled glass of your favourite drink, sitting beside your private pool and dipping your toes in the water. And then sit back and fall in love with the stunning sunset as the shimmering solar globe makes its way westward and dips beyond the mountains to your left.
Bophut is a coastal village located on the northern coast of Ko Samui and has managed to maintain an original Thai-Chinese atmosphere to a great extent. Only recently has it been introduced to big waves of tourism and rapidly developing its touristic infrastructure to host the big crowds. Bophut, alternatively known as the Fisherman's Village, has retained its charming character on the east side of the beach while the new developments are found to the west. The nearby beach extends to approximately 2 km of white sandy shoreline dotted with coconut palms, creating a dreamy exotic scenery. The calm waters of the bay make this an ideal place for strolls along the shore but not so much for swimming since they are not very clean.
