Location: Can Marcer is located just 30 minutes from Barcelona airport and 10 minutes from the 17 beaches of Sitges, yet is in a peaceful, rural location overlooking the Garraf Natural Park with a view down the valley to the sea at Sitges. It’s a marvelous place for kids to run around and has lots of children’s amenities, games, and entertainment. The size and layout of the villa provide the space for Guests to come together, but also to have privacy and quiet.
Accommodation: The 10 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms can accommodate up to 26 guests. The sitting rooms provide ample space for your large groups to find their own corner to chill out, read one of the hundreds of books around the masia or play a game of racing demon, backgammon or Monopoly. There is a selection of over 400 DVDs to choose from and if you want to turn the downstairs sitting room into a Cinema room you can rent a projector and screen.
Dining Areas: With two dining rooms, Can Marcer has lots of space for large holiday groups to all sit together. One dining room seats 12 and the other around 26 Guests. For alfresco dining both during the night and day the pergola covered tables seat 26+ and provide a lovely shaded and protected space for dining with gorgeous views of the Garraf Natural Park and vineyards opposite. There are outdoor heaters for hire for outdoor dining in the cooler months too.
Chef Service: Enjoy tapas, paella, fideua, and delicious BBQs prepared by your own private Chef with no shopping or clearing away to bother about. Just ask to see sample menus for healthy Mediterranean Breakfast Buffets, Lunches and Dinners served by one of the local Chefs, or if you simply want one or two dishes prepared for you and left for you to serve that too is an option.
Cooking: Whether you hire a local Chef, decide to allocate cooking days, or organize cooking competitions between your group, it’s really useful having two kitchens. If you’d like to learn how to make some new Spanish dishes why not hire a local Chef for a Mediterranean cookery class, and serve the wonderful results to the rest of the team at lunch or dinner.
Beds: The bed layout is flexible. In most rooms, the beds can either be made up into single beds or super king-size doubles. This means that 26 Guests can sleep in separate beds or couples can enjoy super king-size double beds.
Party Room: There’s a party room that can be set up for different purposes. Its daily use is as a Games room with pool table and table tennis. It doubles up as a Cinema Room or Disco. The projector, screen, disco lights, and speakers can be rented if required.
Swimming Pool: The 11.5m x 4.5m saltwater swimming pool is heated to 27C when temperatures are over 15C, which normally makes it usable from March to December. There are various areas where you can all sit and sip cocktails together from the poolside bar, or you can also find quiet corners for peaceful reading, or a little siesta in the shade.
Sustainability: Water is scarce and precious in this part of the world, so to irrigate the gardens we collect rainwater from the roofs in a huge “cup” once used for fomenting wine. The plants and trees are indigenous to the Garraf area and are self-seeding. They include Fig Trees, Thyme, Rosemary, Wild Asparagus and Mediterranean Fan Palm. At present we’re working on strengthening the olive trees to bear fruit, and we use a coco husk water filtration system to clean and recycle the water used at the Masia to water them.
Local Area: The Masia overlooks the Garraf Natural Park and part of our aim is to help you enjoy what the park and the local area have to offer, including bicycling, walks, history, and ecological wine and products. We’ll be happy to show you many fascinating, local places to visit of historical interest as well as introduce you to walking and cycling routes, local guides, vineyards, and bicycle hire companies so that you can really explore the beautiful countryside.

just back after a brilliant week with 23 friends and family. The house, the gardens, the outside spaces and the pool are all perfect for large groups! There is space to get together and space to disappear! The poolside bar made for some very enjoyable long afternoons in the sunshine! Thanks to Peter and Ginette for being so attentive and flexible.
Wow! Our group of 14 adults stayed for a week at Can Marcer. Prior to arrival, owners Ginette and Peter were helpful and patient - sharing a wealth of helpful information as we planned our trip. Peter met us at arrival and could not have been more welcoming and responsive to our questions during our stay. The grounds and home are inviting and very well-kept, sprinkled with charming historical features that have been preserved. The sleeping accommodations were spacious with comfortable beds and linens (we all slept very well!) and en suite bathrooms for all in our party (in big demand, but not always easy to find). Living space is abundant, with 2 large indoor living rooms and a game room as well as outdoor lounge areas, lovely outdoor dining space, and the pool/bar/lounge .A well-stocked kitchen and multiple fridges made it easy to pull together meals in the evening - and we dined outdoors nightly. Naturally, the pool and bar area was the main attraction when we were not out sightseeing or enjoying the local beaches. Local grocery options in Sant Pere de Ribes were convenient with friendly staff. The location is ideal for easy day trips to Barcelona, Montserrat, and charming Sitges is only 15 minutes away. We could not have found a better place to bring our group. Many thanks, Ginette and Peter, and to housekeeper Janice for popping in a few times during the week to make sure our needs were met.
