REVIEW SCORE

Muluwa Lodge is ideally situated in the Mpumalanga Lowveld region of South Africa, boasting incredible views out and over the valleys and mountains of the area. The view, beautiful sunrises and sunsets, as well as a wonderful array of “plains” game species that graze close by, create a wonderful “Serengeti” type ambiance.

About the Location

South Africa, Mpumalanga, White River

The small town of White River a significant center for agriculture and tourism-was established around 1890. Its proximity to the Kruger National Park makes it an ideal base for exploring the park and other lesser-known attractions in the region. The agricultural heritage of the people who settled in the White River after the Anglo-Boer War has remained largely unchanged to this day, and it continues to draw visitors who want to experience this history firsthand and hear more about a region that is virtually untouched.

Agriculture in this region depends heavily on the cultivation of tropical fruit, flowers, and timber. It is one of the largest in the province of Mpumalanga and is thus highly important for the economy of the region. White River is a favorite holiday spot for both locals and international visitors seeking to explore the scenery of the Crocodile River Valley, and with three irrigation dams and a variety of surrounding parks, there is plenty to enjoy outdoor. Fun events in the White River include a visit to the St. Georges Anglican Church, a visit to the Mission End Trading Post, where you can pick up antiques and treasures.

Mpumalanga is located in the east of South Africa, north of KwaZulu-Natal, and borders Swaziland and Mozambique. In the north-east, the land climbs into the tops of the mountains and then ends in an enormous escarpment. In some areas, the escarpment plunges hundreds of meters down to the low-lying region known as the Lowveld. The charm of Mpumalanga, the location where the sun rises, is not easily overshadowed, and tourists have access to incredible landscapes, mountain scenery, rushing rivers, waterfalls, misty valleys, and a multitude of game parks that make the north-eastern province a famous choice.

Known as the "Paradise Country," few areas of the world can equal the remarkable elegance of the Mpumalanga Lowveld and Escarpment. The scenery is characterized by mountains, panoramic passes, valleys, rivers, waterfalls, and forests. This is also the Big Game Nation, the setting for scores of sanctuaries full of wildlife and birds. Among them, Kruger National Park is world-famous, as are many luxurious private reserves on its western frontier.

South Africa, the southernmost country on the African continent, is characteristic for its varied landscape, breathtaking natural beauty, and cultural diversity, which make it one of the most interesting countries in the world and a favorite destination for travelers since the legal ending of apartheid in 1994. South Africa has three cities that serve as capitals: Pretoria, Cape Town and Bloemfontein. Johannesburg is the largest urban area in the country and a center of commerce. Lagos and Cairo are also among its most visited countries.
