The small town of White River a significant center for agriculture and tourism-was established around 1890. Its proximity to the Kruger National Park makes it an ideal base for exploring the park and other lesser-known attractions in the region. The agricultural heritage of the people who settled in the White River after the Anglo-Boer War has remained largely unchanged to this day, and it continues to draw visitors who want to experience this history firsthand and hear more about a region that is virtually untouched.
Agriculture in this region depends heavily on the cultivation of tropical fruit, flowers, and timber. It is one of the largest in the province of Mpumalanga and is thus highly important for the economy of the region. Mpumalanga is located in the east of South Africa, north of KwaZulu-Natal, and borders Swaziland and Mozambique.
