The Azores Islands lie in the mid-Atlantic and are a fascinating island archipelago belonging to Portugal and a short flight for Americans As well as a two hours flight to Lisbon. This is a land of extreme natural beauty and most visitors are surprised by the tropical conditions of the islands. Small and intensely flavored pineapples, as well as tea plantations, dot the island of San Miguel. To the East, on the island of Santa Maria, visitors will enjoy warm beaches with white powdery sand and endless vineyards covering the slopes. São Miguel, the largest island will seduce you with its Sete Cidades and fascinating Fogo Lagoons.
