The Jungle Village is hidden among the tropical flora of Bastimentos, situated on a hill overlooking the Caribbean to the North. Isla Bastimentos is located in the Bocas del Toro District, Panama. The island is about 62 square kilometers and is one of the largest in Panama. It is a pleasant and more layback alternative to the vibrant life of Bocas del Toro District and is accessible within 10 minutes by water taxi. Isla Bastimentos is also known for its immense National Marine Park and the Red Frog Island Resort's Nature Preserve that encompasses a large part of the island as well as Zapatilla Cays. The northwest coast of the island is dotted with palm-fringed beaches that are home to sea turtles. The northern and southern coasts are dominated by coral reefs that lie within the boundaries of the Parque Nacional Marino Isla Bastimentos. The main settlement on Bastimentos is Old Bank, inhabited by the West Indian population. The island also comprises the Ngöbe-Buglé village of Quebrada Sal.
