About the Location

Italy, Umbria, Terni

Terni is a lovely city in the heart of the southern part of Umbria, central Italy. This charming city has been given the title of the ‘City of Lovers’ for a good reason; its charming architecture with historical buildings adds greatly to its quaint beauty. Terni is run through by Nera River. It was not until the 19th century that Terni really flourished when steel mills were constructed in the area and the city’s economy grew. Today Terni remains an important industrial city.

Terni is favorably located in the Umbrian countryside, surrounded by a plethora of national parks and areas of natural beauty such as the Parco Fluviale del Nera and Lago di Piediluco. Furthermore, for the fact that the city retains much of its historical architecture with buildings such as the Basilica san Valentino and the Duomo di Terni, its authenticity has not been lost despite its partly industrial character. The city is also a convenient transportation hub with various links to other cities.

Umbria is a famous region of Central Italy crossed by the beautiful River Tiber. Well known for its old cathedral churches and beautiful villages. It is a less traveled region in Central Italy with many advantages over Tuscany. It is the smallest region in Italy and it doesn’t have a coastline or border with another country. It is an ideal country for those who want to experience Italian art, history, culture and cuisine.

The birthplace of the Roman Empire and Renaissance, Italy, showcases many of the world’s greatest artworks, architectural buildings and over the top gastronomical proposals. This is the country where the word “style” expresses the whole nation. Italy has more Unesco World Heritage cultural sites than any other country; among them are Botticelli’s Birth of Venus and Primavera, Michelangelo’s David and Sistine Chapel and da Vinci’s The Last Supper.
