Villa Licia Sicily has recently been refurbished to a high standard. It's just 50 meters from the sandy beach of Santa Maria del Focallo, and a short drive from the seaside town of Pozzallo. Pozzallo is a pretty town with a 15th-century watchtower at one end of the large town beach and a good selection of shops, bars, and restaurants.

Villa Licia Sicily has a comfortable lounge area with a sofa bed, a fireplace that leads through to a modern, well-equipped kitchen. On the ground floor, there are two double bedrooms with an ensuite shower room.

The walled garden offers good privacy and to the front of the villa, there is a super external second kitchen complete with a barbecue, one bathroom, and a laundry room. Stairs lead from the outside kitchen to the first floor where you'll find a small terrace. The pool sits middle of the garden between the parking and the villa. Close to the pool, you will find a lounge area that offers great shade so you can relax and escape the heat of the mid-day sun.

About the Location

Italy, Sicily, Santa Maria del Focallo

Santa Maria del Focallo is a village of Ispica, Italian commune in the province of Ragusa in Sicily. It is about 9 km from the capital city. It is a seaside resort that extends for about 8 km. Between tourists and citizens of Ispica, is populated mainly in summer, due to the extensive beach and crystal clear water. It is also characterized by a strip of natural vegetation protected, composed mainly of Acacia trees, suitable for picnics.

Santa Maria del Focallo has miles of golden beaches, green hills, white cliffs and crystal clear seawater! The town of Pozzallo is to the west and Ispica is in the hinterland.

This is a great place to take a beach holiday close to shops and the beautiful Baroque cities (including Scicli and Noto). There are only 200 inhabitants here, but in summer you will find a lot more people in terms of visitors wishing to share a bit of the 8 km coastline.

After the coast of Pozzallo, there is a suggestive coastline that includes the beaches of Santa Maria del Focallo. Located between Ispica and Pozzallo along the southeastern coast of Sicily, 50 km from Ragusa, it is known for the beauty of its golden and fine sandy beach, full of small dunes, eucalyptus and acacia trees. The sea that laps this stretch of coastline is blue and crystalline and hosts thousands of tourists every year. These long free and uncontaminated beaches are served by a few beach clubs. Legambiente and Italian Touring Club have counted it among the most beautiful beaches in Italy and included in the "Blue Guide 2014".

Sicily is the largest of the Italian islands, separated from the Continent by the Strait of Messina and washed by the Ionian, the Tyrrhenian, and the Mediterranean Seas. It is a true gem of Southern Italy and is a place with abundant nature and rich history and traditions along with outstanding architecture. Nature here seems to have embraced all its versions: mountains, hills, and above all the most magnificent azure sea, with its crystal-clear water and the impeccable beauty of its colorful seabed. Sicily also involves three volcanos, with the most famous being Etna which adds one more color to the unique palette of this mythical island.

The birthplace of the Roman Empire and Renaissance, Italy, showcases many of the world’s greatest artworks, architectural buildings and over the top gastronomical proposals. This is the country where the word “style” expresses the whole nation. Italy has more Unesco World Heritage cultural sites than any other country; among them are Botticelli’s Birth of Venus and Primavera, Michelangelo’s David and Sistine Chapel and da Vinci’s The Last Supper.
