REVIEW SCORE

Lying between the sky and the sea, listening to the lapping of the waves, and gazing at the stars. Thus you will find yourself at Villa la Scogliera, an incredible three-level dwelling with direct access to the rocks and large terraces that will make you feel truly suspended by giving you a 180-degree view of the extraordinary south-eastern coast of Sardinia, between Cagliari and Villasimius.

The show will also continue inside. Just sit on the sofa in the living room and look in front of you to admire the same unique show or sit at the table, during the lunch break or for dinner, to observe how the horizon beyond the large glass doors changes with the hours go by. In the large open-plan living room, you will find a large dining table that can accommodate up to 12 people. The kitchenette with oven, dishwasher, stove, and microwave is also open space. There are 5 bedrooms, equipped with en suite bathroom with shower, to which you can also add another 2 sofa beds. One of the bedrooms, in addition to a queen-size bed, has 2 single beds.

All to experience the outdoor spaces overlooking the sea and the cliff below which you can access by going down just twenty meters below the house. From the various terraces, all furnished, you can scan the horizon and treat yourself to magical sunrises and sunsets. There is also a barbecue area outside. Extraordinary the swimming pool that will mark an imperceptible line between sky and sea where you can immerse yourself in a large open space. Villa la Scogliera is located in a very private area, not very touristy, at the end of a closed-end road, and allows you to experience a series of on-site experiences.

The house is just 15 kilometers from Villasimius, about forty from Cagliari, and is surrounded by lush vegetation and characterized by the typical Mediterranean scrub that releases all the smells of the island, guaranteeing a bit of coolness even on the hottest summer days. The closest white sand beach to you can also be reached on foot. The extraordinary beaches of Poetto and Simius are just a few minutes away by car. Not far from here is the necropolis of Cruccuris and the Museum of the Territory of Castiadas.

About the Location

Italy, Sardinia, Cagliari Province

The province of Cagliari is large and covers almost 20% of the island of Sardinia. Cagliari is also the capital of the whole of Sardinia. This province is in the south of the island and has the Sardinian Sea to the west, the Strait of Sardinia to the south and the South Tyrrhenian Sea to the east. It has the provinces of Nuoro, Oliastra and Oristano to the north and the provinces of Carbonia-Iglesia and Medio Campidano to the west.

Here you will find the paradisiac coastal area Poetta which extends to eight kilometers of sandy beach and boasts crystal clear water.

Cagliari attracts its visitors with its beautiful architecture which includes many historic buildings, masterpieces of Art Nouveau architecture, museums, stunning palaces and art galleries. The fortified quarter known as Castello in the historical center is located high on a rock and it offers amazing panoramic views of the city. The modern side of Cagliari is dotted with tasteful shops and plenty of bars and restaurants.

The terrain is rocky including caves and minerals along both the coast and higher inland areas. Worth visiting is the Molentargius Lagoon which stretches eastwards from the city of Cagliari to the long sandy coast of Poetto. This large lagoon is of great importance as it hosts an ecosystem which attracts many birds and it is home to 180 different species, some of which are extremely rare. There is another regional park in Cagliari, the Sette Fratelli - Monte Generis Regional Park which is an excellent choice for a hike in nature. There are mapped routes and picnic areas and there is also the option of a guide. This area is one of the last remaining homes for Sardinian deer.

Sardinia is the second bigger island of the Mediterranean Sea and it is a mainly mountainous region with a vast natural environment. Here you can swim at the beautiful beaches of Cala Goloritze, Cala Luna and Cala Sisine while Neptune's Grotto is also a well-known destination for its cave which can be reached by boat. Go to the Capo Caccia and take a photo of the wild scenery while the hikers will love the famous Gorropu Gorge. Don’t forget to visit Porto Flavia one of the most important industrial archeology sites in the world.

The birthplace of the Roman Empire and Renaissance, Italy, showcases many of the world’s greatest artworks, architectural buildings and over the top gastronomical proposals. This is the country where the word “style” expresses the whole nation. Italy has more Unesco World Heritage cultural sites than any other country; among them are Botticelli’s Birth of Venus and Primavera, Michelangelo’s David and Sistine Chapel and da Vinci’s The Last Supper.
