Here you can freely spend your holidays with family and relatives or with friends, to experience your important moments such as holidays, anniversaries, parties and small ceremonies. The spaces, both internal and external, allow diversifying as much as possible the use of the Villa which, with its covered area of over 300 square meters and the immense outdoor areas, offers various possibilities of use.
The residence, located in the geographical area of Grecia Salentina (Salentine Greek-speaking land), has a large and green garden with adjoining park and pine forest and a large swimming pool. During your stay, you can relax by the large swimming pool, 18 meters long by 6 wide, or dive into the crystal clear water. Around the pool, a large stone-paved solarium will allow you to relax in the sun while a nearby gazebo will provide the necessary shade for the sun loungers placed in another relaxation area.
Also outside, convenient and strategic for outdoor lunches and dinners, the patio, which is connected to the house by large French windows, and the barbecue area with a large wood-fired stone brazier fireplace. In the green areas of the house, there are centuries-old trees, monumental pines, palm trees but also olive trees and many essences of the Mediterranean scrub.
The interior furnishings, all in harmony with the territory, blend with the authentic style of this ancient dwelling: mirrors, chests, wardrobes, and wooden bedside tables, play a perfect role with the typical vaulted ceilings and some exposed beams, with the floors in Lecce stone is handmade terracotta. Particularly welcoming is the large room that serves as a living room with its beautiful white sofa, the stone fireplace in the center, a solid wood coffee table and a bright view of the panoramic terrace. In the dining room, there is room for 16 people thanks to the large wooden table. Characteristic and really equipped with everything you need, even the kitchen of the house.
Close to the Torcito Natural Park, Villa Salentina is located a few kilometers from Otranto and other centers rich in art and culture. The wonderful beaches of Alimini, Baia dei Turchi, Torre dell Orso, and the rocky one of the protected parks between Otranto and Santa Maria Di Leuca are very close to you. The Ionian coast, of which Gallipoli is the most famous, can be reached in about half an hour by car.
Lecce, the grand dame of Puglia, is a dazzling city all dolled up in baroque embellishments. The buildings of the city are built in local limestone, lathered with joyous ornate carvings and adornments done with such exuberance that it gives the city a sense of gaiety. Lecce is extravagant, even flamboyant. It is the cultural capital of Puglia, with so many monuments, churches, palaces, and museums that it has been given the nickname, “The Florence of the South.” With its elegant city center and vibrant feel, it’s impossible not to love Lecce.
This is a city of rose windows, stone flourishes, garlands, Solomonic columns, small piazzas, and unexpected alleyways. Start your visit by walking under the arch of Porta Napoli and heading into the historic centre along Via Palmieri, flanked by aristocratic palazzos as it leads to Piazza Duomo. Alternatively, if you start at Porta Rudiae, you can abandon the paving stones of Via Libertini and dive into the ancient and intricate labyrinth that is the multi-ethnic Giravolte district, a crucible of ethnicities and cultures today, as it was in the past. You could then continue your tour by exploring the charming alleys and small piazzas, where the local Lecce stone glows pink as the sun sets.
Sleepy whitewashed villages, olive trees, splendid cuisine, and crystal clear sea, Puglia is a heaven on earth destination in the Deep South of Italy. Puglia is a less tourist destination than the overcrowded Tuscany, Venice, and Rome, making it an ideal destination for carefree holidays and an ideal destination to practice your skills in Italian since few people speak English. For the food lovers, Puglia is the favorite region in Italy for eating, patters of marinated and grilled vegetables, cheeses and of course homemade pasta are only some of the dishes you have to taste. Go to the beautiful hobbit-like Alberobello, at the labyrinth streets of Locorotondo and Ostuni, or the gorgeous towns of Otranto and Gallipolli next to the sea. Visit a fortified farmhouse or else masserrie and see how they produce olive oil, wine vegetables, and cheeses, it is an over the top experience. Don’t forget to enjoy the sun's powdery sand, and swim in the crystal clear waters at the beautiful Puglia's coastline.
