About the Location

Indonesia, Bali, Sanur

Sanur Beach is a former fishing village on the eastern side of the island's isthmus and comes to striking contrast with vibrant Kuta, both in location and characteristics. It displays a charming character and a wealth of arts and culture, which makes it an optimum choice to enjoy both classic and contemporary attractions. Sanur was the first area of Bali to be developed for tourism, and it includes a great variety of restaurants, shops and bars.

Sanur is close to the main city of Denpasar and also close to vibrant Kuta, just a 30-minute drive, which is the party-centric choice of Bali and which visitors choose for surfing in the Indian Ocean. It is also close to the famous Nusa Dua (1-hour drive) renowned for its breathtaking sandy beaches. Sanur is approximately 20 minutes from the International airport of Ngurah Rai and it can serve as a base to visit other places such as Ubud, a 45 minutes drive, Canggu, a 1.5 hours drive and Amed, a 3 hours drive.

Sanur is one of the best places on the island to enjoy magical sunrises. Orange and pink colorings of the sky create a romantic atmosphere that will enchant its visitors. A trip along the charming beachfront is definitely a must-do while being in Sanur. As expected Sanur offers a wide range of water sports for younger and older active crowds to have fun! The Sanur Night Market is one of the best local food markets in Bali to eat at and try traditional Balinese cuisine.  For some culture, visit Museum Le Mayeur which contains works of the homonymous artist and traditional Balinese art and local artifacts.

Bali is the most popular holiday destination in the Indonesian archipelago. Exotic temples and palaces embraced by lash nature, are some of its top attractions. After sunset, famous nightspots invite its many visitors to unforgettable nights. You will be amazed by the verdant nature and jungles. Bali also boasts world-class beaches and luxury resorts in hot spots such as Kuta, Seminyak, and Jimbaran where most of the accommodation is right on the beach. They also host some of Bali’s greatest surf spots. The eastern beach resorts are more tranquil and present the most beautiful sunsets. These include Sanur, Nusa Dua and the coast of Candidasa. In east Bali and northern region, you’ll find some world-class diving spots with calm bays. They're home to pristine corals and colorful marine life.

Indonesia is composed of many islands that display cultural and landscape diversity, located off the coast of mainland Southeast Asia in the Indian and Pacific oceans. With nearly 13,500 islands under its jurisdiction, Indonesia offers an adventure for everyone, from exploring ancient temples and hiking active volcanoes to diving in exotic, pristine waters. This country’s history and natural beauty will leave no visitor uncharmed. Indonesia is the fourth most populous country in the world after China, India and the USA, having the largest Muslim population in the world. It includes over 100 active volcanoes.
