Simply gorgeous time at the Ideales Resort
Had a superb week in the Xteni a few weeks ago, so much so that we've immediately booked to go back next year!
Everything was just lovely, spacious, clean, luxurious and private villa. The views are just glorious, straight across to the Islands, and with the mountain range behind the villa, there's beauty everywhere you look.
Staff were really helpful and couldn't have been nicer from booking through to leaving (thank you Lila in the office and Lola at the Villa especially).
The whole place and Kefalonia island has such a lovely relaxed vibe, and the views are simply stunning. We also found people really nice and friendly, and they'll kindly speak English to you whenever they can, if they see you're struggling.
First time in Greece so was slightly amazed at just how loud the crickets are in the evening - really a nice sound though and it's nice to hear something different to home.
The villa is just a short 10 minute stroll to the nearest restaurant, great little shop nearby for the essentials, but the view and pool is really what makes this one in a million. (Top tip for the best local restaurant is the Veramente - 15 minute stroll, incredible authentic Greek food, great views and the nicest manager ever!).
Sitting on the veranda, or out by the pool, enjoying the view to the sea and islands, is simply perfect.
Will be our getaway of choice.
Also - great that they clean the pool 3 or 4 times during the week so really top marks all round, and Lola the caretaker, who was great, also pops in to give a clean around, change bedding/towels etc a few times a week.
Don't hesitate to book, but to enjoy the island fully do also book a car, as there are so many wonderful places to explore, Fiskardo and Assos are well worth seeing.
All in all, the holiday was 10 times better than I hoped or thought - and I'd fairly high expectations based on the pictures and other reviews!
