Maria Villa Rethymno is a 75 m² one-storey villa with 1 bedroom and can accommodate 2 people in beds and up to 4 people if it is necessary. Entering Maria Villa Rethymno there is a spacious open plan area consisting of the living room with a 50” smart TV, the indoor dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen of top quality fixtures. The living room area has a balcony which you can also access to the garden. Then as you pass through the hallway, there is a bedroom with one double bed. At the end of the hallway, there is a bathroom with a bath and shower.
Outdoor area: Outdoors there is an organized fenced area with a relaxing environment surrounded by trees and flowers. More specifically our outdoor facilities include a 30 sq.m swimming pool with sunbeds and umbrellas, a fully equipped barbecue area with charcoal barbecue and a sink, an outdoor dining area, parking.
The village of Pigi is located approximately 10km from Rethymno Town with a direction towards Loutra. Found at an altitude of 60m, Pigi has situated one breath away from the sea and in the heart of a fertile area which used to be called Ario, while today it is encountered under the name Katomeri. Pigi took its name from a fountain found by the river Pigianos or Pigio that has no longer water and was firstly mentioned in the 16th century. Pigi used to be the capital of the surrounding villages during the 50s and 60s. Today the renovated square of the village, the Hero memorial, and Prevelaki’s writer house are some of the sights of Pigi. Worth a visit are the church of Agios Dimitrios and the Byzantine 14th-century church of Agios Nikolaos.
Rethymno Greece is one of the four regions of Crete island, located on the western side of Crete, between the prefectures of Chania and Heraklion. The location is great close to the village which has two excellent tavernas a bakery, two butchers, and a supermarket. There is also a bar. We used the local bus service to get into Rhythmno and found it very cheap and easy to use with tickets available at the supermarket. The buses were reliable and the nearest stops to the villa are on the road. The villa was really nice with a lovely garden, pool and barbeque area. The rear garden is private and is great for sun bathing. It is only around five minutes walk into the village and around twenty to thirty minutes down to the beach. I would certainly recommend the villa and we found it easy to get around locally without the use of a car.
Upon arrival we were greeted by the host who showed us around the villa making sure we had everything we needed and went over all the little things like switches, fuse box, hot water etc. The villa and its location made our holiday for us. Can’t wait to go back.
Lovely peaceful location, just a 5 minute walk from the local village with a shop, pharmacy, bakery, bar and 2 restaurants. The leaky cauldron does amazing food. We loved every minute of our stay and the staff always a text away with help and assistance. They have been so helpful and attentive. Crete is amazing and full of such lovely people. The Villa is a short drive away from Rythemno which is a lovely city to go too! Lots to do. You will not be disappointed if you book here, it was just perfect. I felt safe happy and very well looked after!
The outside area is beautiful and the pool is cleaned every couple of days which is a lovely touch. The villa inside was perfect for the two of us with facilities to cook meals if we wished. The village is lovely, with a supermarket, butcher, bakery and a number of restaurants. We recommend going to Paprika which is about a 15 minute walk away, they have really good value food including gyros and burgers. All in all we had a great week and would really recommend the villa. We decided not to get a hire car which worked for us as we often walked into Pigi and got a taxi to Rethymno. Thank you!
The garden and pool area is ideal for lazy days and the location to the local town is perfect for dinners out and shopping. The kitchen space is a little minimal with not much prep space but the outside BBQ area is ideal for summer meals outside.
