Gerani is a quiet seaside village, located 15km west of Chania. The cosmopolitan village of Platanias is within walking distance and there you can find all amenities from tasteful restaurants to nightclubs and malls. The design, decorations, modern look, the pool, cleanliness - the attention to every detail made our stay absolutely amazing. We were charmed from the moment we were greeted by the family at arrival and our 4 night stay was as good as a villa stay can be.
In my opinion you can stop searching as you will not find a better villa in all of Chania!
We would wholeheartedly recommend Thrasyvoulos and Eleni's property as a place to stay. It is extremely well equipped and super clean. We instantly felt relaxed as soon as we entered the property. Thrasyvoulos and Eleni have put together two really helpful books with information about the facilities and appliances in the villa and also recommendations of restaurants and things to do in the area. The pool area is such a lovely space and and it was a joy preparing meals in the kitchen. Thrasyvoulos and Eleni are incredibly nice people and very committed to ensuring their guests have the best time. They were very accommodation with regards to our check-out time which we hugely appreciated.
We have just spent a wonderful week at the villa. The villa is fabulous and very comfortable- we were welcomed with a homemade cake, fruit and wine - the hosts have thought of everything. The beds are very comfortable which is so important to us for a holiday. We didn’t have the pool heated and temperature was perfect even in late September.
We had a car for the week and there are great supermarkets and butcher’s near by but you can get the bus anywhere from the location. There are several walkable tavernas and the smart Asperian hotel next door for a great bar and restaurant - very welcoming to non residents.
We really enjoyed the host’s recommendations for restaurants and beaches. Highly recommend this villa if you want a relaxing week. Thank you Thrasyvoulos and Eleni
We had a wonderful stay at the this Villa, and would wholeheartedly recommend it. Eleni and her husband were the best hosts, welcoming us at the villa even though our flight arrived late at night. She had left welcome gifts of cakes and wine which was a lovely touch. She also cleaned the villa, and changed the towels and linen mid week which we’ve never had in other villas. The villa was perfect, so well appointed, and with lots of furniture around the pool area which meant no one needed to fight for the best sun loungers like you would have in an hotel! It was only 100 metres to the sea (not crowded) and there were restaurants nearby but we hired a car which I feel it was useful to get the best out the area.
We’ve stayed in many villas and would say this was overall the best one yet.
Absolutely spotlessly clean (the hosts clean it twice a week). Great location - 5 min walk to the beach and couple of bars. Platanias a 10 min drive or shuttle bus ride away - loads of restaurants, bars and shops. Chania around 35 mins drive away. The hosts were INCREDIBLE nothing was too much trouble, super friendly and responsive, felt like they genuinely wanted you to have the best time (which we did). Amazing touches like the homemade welcome cake and treats after each cleaning set the hosts and Villa apart from anywhere else I’ve stayed. Thank you Thrasyvoulos And Eleni!!
Eleni and Thrasyvoulos were incredible hosts - welcoming us to the home which is modern and clean and beautiful. You can walk to the beach in under 5 minutes and amazing restaurants are everywhere nearby. Any questions we had they answered right away. We also got great beach and restaurant recommendations. Even though there is so much to do outside of the house, you almost don’t need to leave the place. The pool is great and the rooms are big and comfy - my teens were thrilled to hang at home. Thanks for a magical stay. We hope to be back.

It is 5-star accommodation, and the hosts went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable.
They left wine, sweets and even made us a cake.
They additionally provided age-appropriate toys for our kids and also set up a phone group to be on hand for any questions we had.
The pool is lovely. We were concerned about heating in early June, but it was very hot in Greece when we were there.
The location is quiet. There are enough good quality local restaurants in walking distance. The beach that is close by is nice enough for walking on and sometimes swimming. There are some rocks, and you do need a car to drive to the better beaches.
I would definitely recommend for stays with a group of friends or family.

The pool is very thoughtfully designed for adults and children. The 2 year old was great in the shallow kids pools and the older boys never wanted to leave the deeper side.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Villa. The property is modern, bright, spotless, and had everything we needed — with more than enough space for six of us. The kids practically lived in the pool for five days straight, and the villa was a comfortable, cool retreat after days out exploring. The air conditioning was a godsend, and every detail felt well thought out. The hosts were excellent — warm, welcoming, and genuinely made us feel at home. All in all, a perfect base for discovering Crete. (And it’s rare for me to say this), but we’d genuinely love to return for another holiday.

It’s very clean, modern, and well-designed. The location is perfect. The owners are very thoughtful, courteous, and helpful. The beach across the street was a short walk and very calm. I would highly recommend the Villa to anyone going to Crete.
You can see the sea and hear the waves. The hosts had thought of everything and we felt straight at home. There are at least 10/12 restaurants and some small supermarkets within walking distance. However having a car really helps as we were given great recommendations for things to see and places to eat by our hosts.
The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need and the Villa was cleaned twice during our 10 night stay.

We just got back from a week's stay. We would like to thank the hosts for creating such a wonderful place to spend the holidays. Everything was perfect: the pool, the kitchen, the whole house and the garden. Impeccable cleanliness, everything thoroughly cleaned, white linens and towels. They surprised us with a welcome refreshment and cleaning with a change of linen and towels during the stay. We are really impressed. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!! WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!!!
This Villa is indeed a rare find! ….. so new , so clean , such a lovely garden where we listened to music on their Marshal speakers, whilst swimming in the pool [ perfect temperature ] and sunbathing …. the rooms were spacious and extremely well designed …. two minute walk to our family local beach restaurant where the food and drinks were great [ Thallassik] ….. we had a car and took local trips to the town [ 7 minute drive ] and our favourite spot Chania [ 15 minutes ] …. Synke supermarket has great local produce and good Brands [ 10 minutes ] …. as for our hosts , what lovely people! …. they could not do enough to make sure our stay was perfect! …. including delicious welcome cake and other treats …. My wife and her two sisters are already making plans to return …. sad to leave today
We had a fabulous stay here. The villa is lovely, inside and out, with a well equipped kitchen, including food staples and a variety of different seating areas outside.
The pool is great and the beach is virtually on the doorstep, with free sunbeds (if you buy at least a drink from the local taverna).
In terms of local amenities, there is a small shop and a couple of tavernas within a few minutes walk, plus a small hotel complex, where you can also eat and visit their bar. There are 2 larger supermarkets within a couple of kilometres, for which you would either need a car or taxi, however the hosts were kind enough to ferry us there and back, when we first arrived, which was so helpful.
Chania Old Town is beautiful and we travelled there on a couple of occasions by taxi (28E) in the evening, but you can also take a bus which stops near to the villa.
Finally, the hosts, Eleni and Thrasyvoulos were lovely, regularly checking in without being intrusive.

The house accommodated 6 adults easily and is located within walking distance to the beach, many restaurants and coffee shops! The hosts were very welcoming and helpful and had lots of recommendations for local activities! We would definitely stay here again!

We had some questions prior to booking which were quickly answered. After making our booking & before arriving one of our family members had an injury, Thrasyvoulos & Eleni helped hire a wheel chair for us, they even collected this prior to our arrival. Both meet us upon arrival and showed us around.
We requested that the pool was heated and this was preheated and ready for the kids to enjoy upon arrival. It was a perfect temp for hours of fun.
The villa looks better in real life than in the photos, it’s a lovely house and was presented spotlessly and was cleaned mid week as well. We were delighted with the essentials left in the fridge for us and the a good collection of toys and pool toys.
We’d happily come here next time we visit Crete.
