Triantaros is located 7km away from the capital of Tinos (Chora) and has maintained a traditional architectural style. Starting from Triantaros, two streams flow into Gyrla and Agia Paraskevi, leaving lush green valleys in their passing. In the wider region, there used to be windmills and watermills, which were gradually abandoned or converted into homes. Vrisi (upper village) and Xynari (lower village) are the two traditional wells. The springs there are a point of reference among locals. In the square of Xynari, a well-preserved part of the old traditional olive press is still standing and worth seeing is also the Hero’s monument. The Church of Apostles, built in 1861, is one of the most important of Tinos with unique marbles and carved interior decoration. The form of an animal-like rock, the ”Vayo”, was a place that children used to avoid since it had been connected with scary tales and legends.
