Mesaria is one of the four main villages of the island of Syros in the Cyclades along with Parakopi, Pagos and Agros. Located inland of Syros, Mesaria is a small traditional village located between Pago and Talanda, and displays scattered little houses of picturesque character. Mesaria borders to its north with the settlements of Episkopeio, to its west with Pagos and to its south with Agros. In Mesaria there is the beautiful church of Stavros (Cross). Messaria and Agros are known for their local products and their original, traditional character. Mesaria is an ideal destination for a tranquil vacation away from the hustle and bustle of more cosmopolitan places, yet close to all amenities.
Syros is an island of the Cycladic island complex, however, its architecture is more medieval than Cycladic. Syros is also the administrative and cultural center of Cyclades, combining in a beautiful mix the Venetian architecture and the characteristic Cycladic neighborhoods and neoclassical mansions.
