Vothonas village in Santorini is located 6 km away from the town of Fira. It is considered one of the most picturesque settlements of Santorini, offering a serene and very scenic setting. Vothonas village is adorned with traditional houses which are carved out of rocks loyal to the Cycladic architecture with its mild minimal lines. Vothonas village involves the magnificent church of Agia Anna that dates back to 1827 which is an architectural masterpiece. The most beautiful part of the church is the carved wooden panel, depicting scenes from the Old Testament. The most enthusiastic travelers also visit the pretty chapel of Panagia Trypa which is located on the edge of the cliff. The walking trail is about 20 minutes.
