Pyrgos is situated 8 km southeast of Fira, on top of a hill boasting incredible panoramic views of Santorini. Pyrgos used to be the capital of the island until the early 1800s. The village displays the traditional Cycladic architecture of the island and is built all around a Venetian castle. The Venetian castle is one of the five on the island of Santorini and dates back to the 13th century. It is amphitheatrically built on the hill and opens up to astounding views of both sides of the island. The village displays many churches. The most famous church of the island is the Monastery of Prophet Elias built at the highest spot of the homonymous mountain, located 4 km from Pyrgos village.

The private pool, deck chairs, and excellent weather made it the ideal place to unwind. We were able to remain undisturbed because it was quiet and secluded. All of the appliances and the Air functioned flawlessly.
A top-notch hostess. She replied so fast and was there for everything we needed. She went above and beyond by reserving cabs and all of our exciting activities. The highlights were the chef meal and the yacht trip.
It provides wide-ranging views of the sea, Fira, and Oia and is private. Sitting outside, especially at dusk and at night, was very peaceful. There is a quick (somewhat hilly) walk to Pyrgos, and it is simple to drive to the island's vineyards, beaches, and other villages. The villa was extremely cozy and had enough room for the six of us. This trip is fantastic!
