Today the villa, with its cool vaulted interior, provides an enchanting holiday home. Near to the picturesque village square with its Venetian architecture, the Villa Ivi is approached through painted blue doors which lead into a pretty and private cobbled courtyard. Olive trees in large terracotta pots add a lovely atmosphere as you enter and the outdoor heated Jacuzzi is perfect to relax in after a day at the beach. Quant blue doors lead from the courtyard into the open-plan living area which houses the lounge, dining room, and well-equipped kitchen.
The spacious master bedroom, with a high domed ceiling, has a view of the courtyard. A large bathroom, with modern amenities, serves this bedroom. The second bedroom is a guest house that has its own entrance from the courtyard. The double bedroom is of a comfortable size and a small flight of stairs leads to the en-suite bathroom with a shower. This is a great villa for one or two couples or a small family wanting a private retreat from which to explore the island.
Megalohori is one of the most traditional villages of Santorini, situated up high on a hill and is one of the main wine producers of the island. The uncountable vineyards which extend beyond what the eye can see create a magnificent romantic setting. Here you are spot on to experience the rich wine tradition of Santorini island. The famous Boutari winery is found on the village's outskirts. In Megalochori you will find the Cycladic architecture with several churches and narrow alleys witnessing the strong Aegean tradition. In the main square of the village, you will find a couple of nice taverns that will open up new gastronomical paths in the road of the traditional cuisine. Enjoy!
The everlasting beauty of Santorini island attracts thousands of visitors every year being among the top tourist destinations in the world. The bathroom was enormous! As we walked to the house, the host greeted us and gave us a tour of the neighborhood. Also arranged for us to be transported to the port. On Saturday night, we enjoyed the local flavor provided by Greek singing from the cafe across the street (and it ended promptly at 11 pm).
Clean, spacious, and centrally located in Megalochori, a quiet and cozy village. The Jacuzzi and the modern kitchen were especially appealing to us. The owners are very nice and friendly: we had a minor issue with our toilets on the first day, and they came right away to assist us. Overall, an excellent choice. Thank you very much!
Wonderful space in a typical Santorini village, they welcomed us very well, decorated with great taste, and provided us with everything we needed for our stay.
