Houlakia is a pebbled beach which is the main characteristic feature of this beach which is located 4km north of Mykonos Town and is divided into two parts. The left side has a small cove with a small sandy spot. The right side surprisingly enough is full of large pebbles. Due to this oddity, the place offers a mesmerizing, colorful sunset and breathtaking scenery. Houlakia is not recommended for swimming except for the small cove behind the rocky shoreline. It is most visited for the beauty of its idyllic location and the houses built on the beachfront resist the strong winds. Houlakia beach is accessible by car or motorbike up to a point and then one has to walk.
