About the Location

Greece, Mykonos

Agios Ioannis is a small touristic village in the south-west part of Mykonos island, amphitheatrically built. It combines natural beauty with amazing touristic infrastructure. The beautiful yards are adorned with pink and purple flowers contrasting with the white, and composing a stunning painting. The beautiful sandy beach of Agios Ioannis with the crystal waters took its name from a nearby church. It is an organized beach ideal for families since it is very tranquil yet with plenty of sea sport activities for its more adventurous visitors. Scattered around you will find many restaurants and cafes to enjoy traditional delicacies.

Among the most famous Greek islands, Mykonos is located central of the Cyclades complex. Globally known for its cosmopolitan atmosphere, the exciting nightlife, the picturesque Cycladic architecture and the magnificent beaches, Mykonos is a must for all ages and tastes. Walk along the narrow streets of Chora, enjoy one of the most colorful sunsets from Little Venice and swim in turquoise waters of the south. Windmills are an additional unique touch to the aesthetic of this mythical island and an amazing sight when lit during the night.

Each island in the Aegean has its own identity of unique wild beauty and rich cultural heritage. Some of these pristine islands are for the most part unexplored, such as Chios, Lesvos, Samos and Thasos, while others display a very vibrant day and nightlife and is where the heart of tourism beats, such as cosmopolitan Mykonos, Santorini with the most mesmerizing sunset, Rhodes with the biggest square in Europe and the Achillion palace of princess Sissy, and Paros and Ios with their whitewashed alleys and welcoming turquoise beaches.

Being among the top 20 tourist destinations worldwide, Greece is synonymous with 3 things: history and ancient civilization, amazing landscapes and top touristic destinations. Greece is so wealthy in culture and beauty that it never seems to be completely explored. Holidays in Greece is the ultimate experience all year round. It offers a great pallet of experiences; the warm sun, the crystal clear beaches, the dramatic nature, the rich culture and the renowned hospitality along with the unique culinary experience of the Mediterranean diet.

The view is unbeatable

This home is absolutely beautiful and the view is unbeatable. It is spacious, with a well stocked kitchen, and comfortable beds. Our contact was Konstantinos and he did everything he could to make our stay pleasant. The reason that this did not get five stars was that they were unable to provide wi-fi for us during they stay. We were promised each day that it would be fixed, but it never was. The explanation we received post visit was that there was a provider problem. Nonetheless, it caused a lot of difficulty for us. We were there at the end of the season and there were a few staples missing, e.g., paper towels, trash liners, burnt out lightbulbs. I’m sure they will be replenished at the beginning of the season but we felt they should have been there. This is not a criticism, but the traveler should be aware. You absolutely must have a car from the beginning. There is not even a market you can walk to (well, there is if you want to walk 30 minutes each way up a down a very steep hill). It is above the nice village of Ornos, which does have a good market, wonderful bakery (with wifi!), and good taverna. Mykonos Town takes about 20-30 minutes to get to by car. Mykonos Town was crowded still, even in October, but the beaches were not (need a car to get to). Water was still warm enough to swim. Mykonos was very windy when we were there - may be made-up, but our guide book said there were names for the types of wind, bell ringer, chair thrower, and horse rider thrower. Our chairs did move across the pool deck! Nothing you can do to plan about the wind, it died down considerable the day we left. Just be mentally prepared and find rocks to place against the banging door shutters!
