Calanoa Amazonas Jungle Lodge is a boutique hotel with only five cabins designed by artist Diego Samper, each one is a piece of art and decorated to not only be very comfortable but also very beautiful. You will have the feeling of sleeping in the jungle surrounded by trees whilst being completely protected from the environment. The rental has four standard cabins, which feature two floors, a private bathroom, and a private deck overlooking the Amazon River. The deluxe cabin has three levels, an internal garden, a private bathroom, and a large deck overlooking the jungle. It has also a junior suite, a lovely two-person cabin (perfect for honeymooners) with stunning river views. It was designed with nautical details so you will feel as if you were sleeping in the middle of the jungle on a gorgeous boat-like structure.
This adventure invites you to the most imposing jungle in the world, to hear its call, and to experience the harmony of the deepest origin. When you arrive at Calanoa Amazonas Jungle Lodge, in the heart of the Amazon forest, you will be greeted by a garden of exotic flowers, palm trees, and fruit trees on the shores of the Amazon River; where birds, monkeys, butterflies, and innumerable other species live. The structures are endowed with a sense of lightness, with ethereal walls were lying in a hammock that will allow you to open up your senses and fully contemplate the infinity of the jungle.
Located in the middle of the forest, on a wooden platform, and under lush vegetation, our campsite offers the ultimate jungle experience. You will sleep in hanging tents protected by a vine roof. For our guests' comfort, we have equipped the campsite with a bathroom and shower and a private area to store personal belongings.
Calanoa is located 60 km upriver from Leticia in Colombia. To get to Calanoa you can either take a public speedboat or private transportation can be arranged for you. The journey is really pleasant and you will enjoy a private hour and a half journey up the Amazon River which is an amazing experience per se. In Calanoa you will tickle your palate with delicious dishes that blend traditional cooking methods of the area with playful new styles and techniques. The diet is based on corn, rice, plantain, exotic fruits, unique spices, local wild fish, chicken, handmade bread baked in the wood-burning oven, and grains. Leticia is the main city in Colombia, sitting on the border with Peru and Brazil. The town is a melting pot of Colombians, people from neighboring countries, and indigenous Amazon communities.
Though this place doesn’t offer an endless list of activities there are some interesting things you can do such as go fishing or go hiking, take a night safari, or just hire a guide with a boat to explore the many tributaries, towns, and wildlife of the Amazon. Leticia has a relaxed and tranquil vibe and you will find people very friendly and hospitable. Leticia is mostly popular as a starting point for exploring the vast Amazon. Your venture will present you with rich wildlife; pink dolphins, caimans, monkeys, and tropical birds in their natural ambiance. But nature is not the only thing you can enjoy here. Native tribes are very friendly and you can mingle with them to learn about their culture, food, and way of life.
Leticia is the main city in Colombia's Amazon on the border with Peru and Brazil. Here you will find Colombians, people from neighboring countries, and Amazon communities.
